Orthotics and Chiropractic Treatment

Dysfunction in the foot and ankle can cause postural imbalances that lead to symptoms of pain or dysfunction elsewhere. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Low Back Pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Neck Pain
  • Hip Pain
  • Knee Pain
  • Ankle Pain
  • Shin Splints
  • Heel Spurs
  • Sports Injuries

Orthotics are shaped insoles placed inside shoes with the purpose of restoring natural foot movement by correcting foot posture, and abnormal or irregular walking patterns.  Chiropractic recognizes this uneven gait and wear and tear of your feet and its contribution to spinal subluxations. By utilizing spinal stabilizing foot orthotics, we can help maintain the adjustment and improve overall patient treatment results.

Foot orthotics are not just "arch supports," although this term is often used to describe them. They perform functions that make your everyday activities more comfortable and efficient by altering the angles at which your feet strike the ground when standing, walking, jogging, running, and jumping. Many patients do not need orthotics, but if the ligaments and muscles are not strong enough to support your feet, and prevent further injury when you're standing, then orthotics will help with support and stability.
